Welcome

What you can't see from the parking lot.

We didn't convert a warehouse or squeeze into a strip mall. We built this ourselves in 2022, from a blank sheet of paper, on 22 acres of rolling prairie at the edge of Sun Prairie. Every room, every yard, every detail planned around what dogs actually need before the first wall went up. Here's what that actually looks like.

Outside

Country setting, city convenience.

We picked 22 acres on the edge of Sun Prairie, across from the Sun Prairie Dog Park. Rolling prairie and wooded trails for one-on-one enrichment walks, all part of the property, not a fenced-in afterthought.

We ran outdoor play yards the length of the building, each one connected to its own indoor play room by a glass garage door. We didn’t want one small yard tacked onto a mostly-indoor space, so both the rooms and the yards are genuinely large. Tall privacy fencing keeps the focus on the dogs, not the parking lot. Starting in October, every yard is getting new turf. Here’s what’s changing.

Inside

Indoor-outdoor by design.

We built four indoor play rooms, each with its own heating and cooling, not one thermostat trying to cover the whole building. Grouped by temperament and energy level, not just packed by whatever space was open. If a dog doesn’t fit one group, there’s another. Heated in winter, cooled in summer, comfortable every season.

We put a glass garage door on every indoor room, connected to its own outdoor yard. When the weather allows, we open them and let dogs drift between inside and outside on their own. No leashes, no transitions, no waiting their turn for outdoor time.

We gave each play area its own separate air handling system pulling in real fresh air, not one shared system recirculating the same air around the whole building. Water spigots in every play area keep bowls full without hauling buckets across the floor. Trench drains built into every kennel and play area let us clean the way a mop never could, and we touch rooms up throughout the day and fully clean them with a kennel-safe disinfectant between dogs.

Enrichment Built In

Puppy playground equipment, not just an empty room.

We don’t think daycare should just be a room with dogs in it. Every play area is outfitted with puppy playground equipment built specifically for dogs: ramps, tunnels, climbing structures, balance challenges. The kind of equipment that builds confidence, channels energy, and gives dogs something to do besides chase each other in circles.

We rotate equipment between rooms so dogs see something new throughout the week. Combined with one-on-one enrichment, group activities, and rest cycles, play has structure here, not just volume.

Boarding

Real rooms. Not kennels.

We built private suites designed for actual rest, not stacked kennels. Solid walls between rooms, glass viewing windows so dogs see out without feeling closed in, and Kuranda elevated beds so they sleep off the floor.

Climate-controlled, quiet during sleeping hours, with soft music to settle dogs in for the night. We offer Standard, Deluxe, and Grand suites so there’s a fit for any stay.

Beyond the Building

Where the 22 acres actually goes.

The building only takes up a small fraction of the property. The rest is rolling prairie, wooded paths, and quiet space where dogs walk one-on-one with a handler. No leashes pulling toward traffic, just real ground under their paws and real space to move.

We built private, exclusive-use enrichment trails through the property. Throughout the day, different dogs walk them one-on-one with a handler, booked ahead or added at drop-off. As far as we know, we’re the only facility in Dane County offering this. Quiet, wooded, and part of the regular rhythm here for the dogs who get it, not an afterthought.

Starting October 5

Better yards for the dogs we know.

We’re replacing the pea gravel in every outdoor play yard with pet turf, with grading and drainage work underneath. It’s our biggest facility upgrade since we built this place in 2022.

  • Less gravel to worry about. Some dogs put pea gravel in their mouths. Turf takes it out of the play yards entirely.
  • Less grit in paws and coats. Less gravel dust on the dogs, less debris tracked through the play rooms and hallways.
  • A softer place to play. A more consistent surface underfoot than the gravel it replaces.
  • Drainage built in underneath. Grading and drainage work help water move through the yards instead of collecting where dogs play.

What it means for your visits

Work begins the week of October 5 and should take 3–4 weeks, one play area at a time. We’re staying open the whole time.

Already confirmed? You’re all set. You don’t need to change your reservation.

Still planning October days? With fewer play areas available during construction, we may reach our limit sooner than usual. Book ahead, and know that a waitlisted request is not a confirmed spot.

Come See It

The best way to know if a place is right for your dog is to walk it yourself.

Photos can show you the building. They can't show you what it feels like to stand in the play room while dogs drift through the garage door, or how quiet the boarding wing is at night, or what twenty-two acres of prairie sounds like in the morning. Come see it. Tours are by appointment so we can give you our full attention without taking it from the dogs.
